Microlearning · Workflow automation
Teaching the automation, not just running it.
A short interactive course that teaches the Microsoft Forms and Power Automate pattern behind my Learning Operations Automation work, so other trainers can understand it, rebuild it, and adapt it.
Five lessons · Articulate Rise with Storyline interactions
One workflow pattern: Trigger, Retrieve, Decide, Act.
Built in Rise and Storyline, with Synthesia video walkthroughs.
The problem
A working automation that only one person understood.
The exam-scoring and records workflow I built in Power Automate solved a real operational problem. But an automation nobody else can read or maintain is a new single point of failure. Trainers needed to understand the logic well enough to repeat it, troubleshoot it, and apply it to their own records.
What I built
Five short lessons around one reusable pattern.
Each lesson pairs a short explanation with a hands-on Storyline interaction, so learners practice the decision logic instead of reading about it. Synthesia video walkthroughs show each step in the real tools.
- TriggerA Microsoft Forms submission starts the flow.
- RetrieveThe flow pulls the response and the learner’s details.
- DecideConditions score the answers and choose a path.
- ActThe flow records the result, notifies the learner, and updates the training record.

Design decisions
Why it is built this way.
One pattern, not one flow
Teaching Trigger, Retrieve, Decide, Act transfers to any form-driven process, not just exam scoring.
Practice the logic
Storyline interactions make learners make the routing decisions themselves, which is where people get stuck.
Short by design
Five lessons, built to finish in one sitting by someone who has a job to get back to.
This is the first iteration, built around a simple scoring method. A second iteration adding partial-credit grading is planned. Built in Articulate Rise and Storyline, with Synthesia for the video walkthroughs and Claude assisting with the automation logic and course build.
